Gov. Susana Martinez Awakening As A “Republican”

While waiting for Paul Ryan, I caught New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez’s speech. I liked it. It was a feisty a little number.

She told a couple of funny stories.

With regard to her parents’ security guard business she said, “Now, my Dad made sure I could take care of myself. I carried a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum – that gun weighed more than I did.”

Martinez also spoke about her past as a Democrat and recounted a time where she and her husband had lunch with two Republicans who wanted her to join the fold. She planned to politely receive them and be on their way. Things didn’t go as planned. She said, “And when we left that lunch, we got into the car and I looked over at Chuck and said, “I’ll be damned, we’re Republicans.” full story:  here

I was very impressed with Gov. Martinez.  I’m sure the liberal media was scratching their pointed little heads, wondering how she got to the Convention full of “old, racist white people”.  Unless she got on the wrong airplane? That would be the liberals who SAW her.  I was scanning channels to see if she was on- air during her speech — our local ABC, CBS and NBC’s stations, weren’t covering her.  They were showing casing media talking heads.

But back to the Governor, I not only liked what I heard, I could relate to what I heard.

As with many people, after clearing my head of the same ole same ole Democrat propaganda, one day as fixing dinner I realized, I was a Republican.  As I increased my knowledge and political awareness — I realized, no, I was a Conservative.

Conservatives are always hoping more ‘see the light’ and come to the Right side of being right.  But we do more than hope.  We take whatever we can, we inform

    I have been so impressed with some of the Republican governors that have spoken at the convention. I really did like Susana Martinez even though I was not at all familiar with her before the speech last night. I have shared her story with other people today. I like her! I can see how she is serving her state and I wish her continued favor and blessings as well as wisdom to make good decisions in that office. You make all women proud.
