"The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left." Ecclesiastes 10:2
“The president is threatening to take unilateral action on immigration even though in the past he has made clear he didn’t believe he had the Constitutional responsibility or authority to do that. And I’d just say this: We are going to fight the president tooth and nail if he continues down this path. This is the wrong way to govern,” the newly re-elected House Speaker (Boehner) told reporters. here
Dear Mr. Congressman, Speaker-of-the-House Boehner:
Not sure I’m buying this after all your previous actions and statements.
Cringing Concerned Conservative
I don’t think much of this weak-kneed Republican. He boldly pontificated an announcement last year that “Impeachment is off the table” and “We’re not talking about Impeachment”. He also foolishly announced there would be “no government shutdown”, as if that were a bad thing.
Congress has two recourse to stop any President — Impeachment (which is called for in Obama’s case) and withholding funding to stop a President’s expanse of illegally sought powers, etc. So why did Boehner say he’d do neither? No doubt, out of fear and perpetual weakness of the poor Republican leadership.
To be a leader requires two things: courage and . . . . leadership. Which makes it more than astonishing that the Republicans continue to keep the same, dreary weak people in these political positions in both House and Senate.
I suppose Boehner and McConnell will continue to run to a microphone and make compelling little speech as they do little to nothing to stop Obama, which was the Voter mandate they were given. Then they will go play golf and yuck it up with ole Barrack and tell him they must appear to appease their constituents and surely he understands?
If something more happens, if these Republicans actually make a firm stand against this radical dictatorial Obama, I’ll be happily surprise. I hope I’ll be surprise, but I’ll also be quite surprised to be surprised.
