Noah’s Ark – Fact Or Fiction? What Else Isn’t True?

arkFrom time to time, I hear professing Christians say some very odd things.  By odd things, I mean comments which go against what the Bible teaches.

I honestly find it more than just ‘odd’. . .  and more into the realm of blasphemy.  I realize that sounds extremely harsh, but when someone denies the Word as true and inerrant, what else might it be called?

There are those who deny the 6 days of creation.  Seriously, if someone can’t get pass the first beginningchapter of the Bible, I have serious concerns of their salvational doctrine accuracy.  Either the entire Bible is God’s inerrant Word (incapable of being wrong) . . .  . or none of it is.

Do Christians believe that it’s acceptable, to choose to believe this and say no to that?  After all, it was all inspired by the Holy Spirit, and not written simply by sinful man.

great floodSince it is all inerrant and the 6 day creation is true and so must be the ‘the great flood’.

“For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.  And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters were on the earth.” Gen. 7:4 – 6

The verse refers to a flood which will “destroy the face of the earth and ALL things I have made”.  That can’t mean a local flood.  I can’t even imagine hard, torrential rains for 40 days and nights which would not cover the flat earth.  And most likely, it was a much flatter terrain before the devastating flood waters.

So how do people reject key elements of the Bible and still declare that they’re Christians, meaning they believe in eternal salvation provided by Christ and Christ alone?

I believe it is possible.

Accepting Christ as personal Savior, is a one time act between a person and the Lord.  It is specific, meaning there are qualification that must be met, like we don’t go through Mary or rely on any other dead person, but only believe in the Living Son of God, His virgin birth, death and resurrection, so we might have eternal life.

But after that initial act of personal salvation, which is directed by the Holy Spirit, we’re allowed to be as stupid, ignorant and uninformed as we choose to be.  We won’t receive the blessings we might otherwise have received, because we’ve closed the door on the leading of the Holy Spirit.  But He will allow us to be the fool.

Christians make the err of going to Liberal churches, lead and taught by Liberal ministers and learn pretty much nothing that is accurate or Holy Spirit lead.  Absorbing this liberal view not only greatly harms a spiritual life — but can lead a person into the complete dogma of Liberalism.  Even so far as to believe abortion is a choice, and not the act of murder.

I hope all professing Christians do question what they read but that they are careful to seek out qualified sources for answers.  We all need qualified,  theologically taught Pastor/ Teachers.  We’re blessed if when we find one who’s learned the original languages and knows the correct translations.

Being a Christians doesn’t mean being a blind fool accepting on faith things which are impossible — that is what the non-believer or atheist chooses to believe, only because they are the blind souls.  They are incapable of even accepting Christ’s free gift of salvation, unless the Holy Spirit opens their eyes.  Our eyes are opened by the Holy Spirit and we do well, not to close them.

Before dismissing any part of the Bible as false or inaccurate, I hope we all will question why we do so. To call false, what God has declared true is a great peril to our personal relationship with the Living God.  Ask Him to point you to the correct path.  He will.  He did so with me.

    Good write, Righter!
How can the sinful flesh understand/comprehend a Holy God, His Word which is Spirit? It can’t. Like you state, ‘,,. eyes are opened by the Holy Spirit …’ Unless a person is ‘saved’ (Believe God, regenerated – baptized into the body of Christ), they ‘can’t’ understand – the Words and meaning of God are foolishness and make no sense to ‘Adam’s kin.’ And, I like how you brought up the ‘lie enablers’ program ‘liberalism’ [another word misused … For God is LIBERAL with HIS LOVE – totally unlike the depraved souls you speak about]. Man-made Religion is just that. God’s inherent Word is not religion (KJV – for the other version have been tamper w/ by the serpent – ‘Yea, hath God said …’), but receiving His gift: Gospel of Grace.

(Notice that those who cast ‘disparaging words’ are usually those who are the cause of them.)

I have NO idea why Word Press is suddenly throwing so much into Spam, even those who previously comment with ‘incident’. They must have made change, but it’s rather annoying. Sorry

Maybe a ‘sign’ of the increased monitoring going on. Thanks for checking and digging it out (with the others!).
Seems like this ‘contain & control’ group is on steroids … Appreciate you and your labor!

You might well be right! :) Thanks for your participation and I’ll try to keep an eye on the Spam. This is just absurd….. 6 or 7 comments in Spam which shouldn’t have been. I left one gnarly jerk in there since he was ranting on and on and on. LOL
