I didn’t see the show, but I am familiar with it. ABC’s “What Would You Do?” presents people and situations and looks for responses. Most are positive, some not . . . but this one is a 4 Star Winner.
The black hairdresser is an actress, along with the “white blonde woman” and her black “boyfriend”. Their job was to get responses from the people in the barber shop…. and they did. This must be watched to be appreciated.
I believe we see people in the clip, who should take the place of Jesse Jackson and Al Shaprton as “leaders” in the “black community”. In fact, I’d nominate them as ‘leaders’ in any community.
These are generous souls who can and should lead, because they spoke and reacted, not out of bitterness, anger, retaliation or personal gain, but compassion and understanding. And certainly not out of racial bias and bigotry. They choose to do what was, and is, the right thing to do.
It’s not often we see the ‘love of Christ’ in a personal response, words or actions. But it is visible here. I have no idea if any of these people are Christians and that isn’t even the point — they exhibit what we all should exhibit: agape love. Love (non emotional caring) in it’s best form.
