NAACP’s Handbook For Clergy To Push “Christian Socialism”

naacp_logo_reutersThe NAACP of North Carolina has created a handbook for clergy to enable them to use Bible verses to promote what has been called “Christian Socialism.”

The North Carolina chapter of the NAACP is a “lead organizer of the Moral Monday rallies,” and Rev. William Barber, who is reportedly an “organizer and frequent keynote speaker,” has often used the handbook to denounce Republicans in North Carolina’s legislature for “trying to move the state backwards” by supporting issues like Voter ID laws, which North Carolina’s governor recently signed into law.

Their rallying slogan is, “Forward together, not one step back” and the tax-exempt organization advocates a brand of “Christian Socialism.” The handbook suggests using a Bible verse that offers “an alternative paradigm for interpersonal and communal engagement that can serve as a critical rejoinder to the policies of our state government.”

I’ve heard a number of people state that the Bible teachers socialism.  The only thing further from the truth is that Jesus was a Chinese monk, who sold used camels in Cairo.  Beyond foolishness.

But it’s not surprising that Political Bigots within the National Association for the Advancement of (Liberal) Colored People would drum something up to create division and chaos, for their political cause — that is the Sal Alinsky way.  And the way Socialist advance in an their agenda in an ignorant country.

But this is also particularly disturbing when regurgitating from Christians, who are simply horribly misguide or uninformed.  They’re usually the ones who don’t attend any church, believing they can “commune” with God wandering the backwoods, doing the laundry and all will be revealed to them. Not true. God instructs believers to rally together, attend church, be taught and learn. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

But much of this trash teaching comes from phoney believers (people who have never trusted Christ personally, but pretend to have done so) and those who dismiss the Bible as foolishness for the empty headed.  Lost souls.

Here’s the point these people attempt to make:  Jesus said to feed the hungry, care for the poor, etc., etc.  True, as far as it goes.  First, we must inquire who He was speaking to?  That would be people, individuals.  This cannot be taken as an order for government, any government, to do the job individuals are to do.  Mary and her sister prepared meals to feed those listening to Jesus — not a government bureaucracy.

Here are a few scriptures:

  1. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.
  2. Proverbs 14:23 In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.
  3. Proverbs 12:11 Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense.
  4. Proverbs 21:25 The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.
  5. Psalm 128:2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
  6. 2 Thessalonians 3:6-9  Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate.

The Bible and our Lord are very clear — if you want to eat, if you want to feed yourself and a family — work.  It is actually a sin for governemnt to take money from working people to run through some government bureaucracy, to eventually be given to anyone to lazy to work.  If you think that sounds ‘cold, harsh, and mean’ — then you’re saying God, the Creator of all, is ‘cold, harsh and mean’.  You are making yourself, smarter and wiser than God.

The Lord does not want us to be ignorant, foolish or fall into to plain stupidity.

  1. 1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.
  2. Romans 1:13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
  3. Romans 10:3 For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Individuals and private organization are to ‘help the poor’ — help as assist — NOT supply a lifestyle of Food Stamps, WIC, free Obama phones, free cars, fee/ low cost subsidized housing, free clothes/ vaccination for their children, free meals at school nor free medical care. Temporary help is offered til those people can supply their own needs.  The liberal minded find it much easier to have government do what they don’t want to do.  But that’s not God’s way nor what He’s instructed.

So I encourage Christians to seek long and hard before buying into anything is evil as “Christian Socialism” and those who support it.  It is an evil and we already have enough evil and ignorance infecting the body of Christ.
