"The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left." Ecclesiastes 10:2
On his Thursday program, MSNBC’s “The Last Word” host Lawrence O’Donnell said the Bible shouldn’t have any role in the upcoming Inauguration Day ceremonies.
The news that Passion City Church of Atlanta Pastor Louie Giglio lost the honor of giving the benediction at the inaugural ceremonies because he delivered anti-gay sermons, O’Donnell said, is a reminder of how much undue influence the Bible has in modern discourse.
“It turns out there is no better way for a pastor to get kicked out of the inauguration ceremony than quoting the Bible,” O’Donnell said. “…… It took all of a day for something to surface in his Giglio’s sermonizing past that made him persona non grata at the swearing-in of a president who is in favor of gay rights, including marriage equality….. The truth is that homosexuality is a sin in the Bible,” O’Donnell added, noting that Giglio’s sermons cited Leviticus 18:22 and I Corinthians 9-10, which warn against committing “sexual immorality.”
“We will ensure that whoever delivers the benediction rejects the same parts of the Bible that President Obama rejects and most Democrats reject, even though every word of the Bible is the word of God,” O’Donnell said. “As I’ve pointed out … no one accepts all of the teachings of the Bible. No one.” Read more: here
A fool, of which O’Donnell has proved himself, proudly announcing that “no one accepts all of the teachings of the Bible”.
Unquestionably, millions of people do accept every Word in the Bible. and more unfortunately, millions of people, including church goers, are like O’Donnell and reject parts of the Bible. They’ve made a choice to follow a Bible and God of their own design, and which they will one day, severely regret.
O’Donnell is the typical Liberal, proudly boasting that (regrettably for the United States) we have a ruling president and Democrat Party, who “reject” much of the Bible and even mock it . . . and in the same breath, O’Donnell acknowledges that “every word, is the Word of God”. Confusing? Not if you’re a Liberal. You evidently consider yourself wiser and smarter than God Himself.
I’m sure he boasts of his open minded philosophy, tolerance and (phony) compassion too — just not for those things and people he’s decided are: unworthy, hateful, racist, bigots, homophobic, Conservative Christians, the Bible and …. God. In other words, if you’re not a liberal pontificating, close minded, Word of God rejecting fool, you’re unacceptably and should be dismissed and disapproved?
Sadly, O’Donnell isn’t alone. As I said, there are many Christians and ‘professing’ Christians, who reject much of the Bible, while saying they believe it’s the Word of God. They’re ignorant, uninformed people who haven’t been taught the deeper truths of the Bible or have blatantly rejected what they’ve been taught. All to seek after what they have decided to believe. They don’t know and understand the God they proclaim to worship — only the God they choose to acknowledge who fits into their self made, comfortable ideology.
This is an abomination because it’s an abomination the our Lord, Who’s desire is for believers to be wise and deeply informed — the reason for the Bible and pastor/ teachers. But, this rejection and filtering of His Word was predicted long ago. That (particularly) in the last days, there would be a great falling away as the hearts of believers grow cold toward the Lord. (Rev 3:14-22; Matt 13:33; 1 Tim chapter 4, 2 Tim chapter 3, 2 Pet chapter 3, 1 John 2:18-23, and Jude 18).
But as repugnant as O’Donnell words are, I also believe he’s speaking accurately. Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrats Party openly and proudly reject much of the Bible, as if they wore a crown of honor. They embrace abortion and homosexuality as a tenant of their personal religion. Both an abomination to God.
Yet Lawrence O’Donnell, the Democrat Party, Barack Obama and many (professing) Christians, have placed their views and ideology, over the direct Word of God. (Proverbs 29:11; 18:2; 10:14; Eccles. 7:9; Psalm 14: 1-4). This is a stark remind we must continue to pray for our nation, pray for our leaders and pray for fellow believers.
