A well-placed Republican source tells Townhall that Oscar-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood will travel to Tampa, Florida to attend Mitt Romney’s nominating convention this week. As the news media scrambles to identify the so-called “mystery speaker” scheduled to address GOP delegates on Thursday evening, some have speculated that the iconic Hollywood figure could fit the bill. Our source — who spoke on the condition of anonymity — could not confirm if Eastwood is, in fact, the intriguing “to-be-announced” speaker, but stated unequivocally that the Dirty Harry star will arrive in Florida late on Wednesday or early on Thursday,” here
Well, that might “make my day”, especially if he comes fully loaded and Eastwood often does.
There were few people I looked more forward to hearing speak than the great Charlton Heston. He came loaded for bear, supporting our right to own guns. He was a forceful, exciting speaker and very missed. But I will be looking forward to hearing Eastwood should he be a guest speaker.
Thus far the Republican Convention has been ‘good- as- expected’. I like listening to any RNC speaker explain why America is great — which is nothing to do with Food Stamps, extended unemployment, redistribution of taxpayer money to Democrat ‘cronies’ nor the phony smoke floating up behind fake columns framing the even faker Barack Hussein Obama.
Conservatives know what makes America great and that’s its people. Their liberty to try and ingenuity to succeed – that’s what makes America what it’s always been. None of that, has anything to do with Democrats and their oppressive agenda and hate filled rhetoric.
Hopefully, Clinton Eastwood will add a bit more excitement and interest to the convention that could save America – and show not everyone in Hollyweird is an idiot.
